Course was in great shape for a Hot August. Ok, wonderful course, in fact two courses; port or starboard. Favorite Course was in great shape and quite a deal for $30! Golf Courses, Harwich, MA A little expensive for a weekday round with cart, but worth it. If you don't have time to play all 18 you can easily play 9.

The Captains Golf Course is owned and operated by the Town of Brewster and is named for the many sea captains that were known to reside in Brewster in the early 1800's. The round was well worth the 1.5 hour ride. Highly recommend it. The young man in the pro shop was not close to being friendly. The layout of the course is my favorite part. The Clubhouse at Captain's Club at Woodfield is one of the nicest clubhouses in Genessee County. The greens are in such great shape it is hard to believe this is a public course. Great course, less the hiking in the 4th, the 4th is the best on starboard. And that is how I almost died playing golf. For the price point of the course, I expect greens that are smooth and fairways that are in decent shape. We played at 8am on a Sunday. Greens are slow and choppy.  More.

The starboard side I would say is the best of the 2 but both are great! STILL, THIS SEEMS TO HAVE DRIVEN PRICES OFF THE CHARTS.IT'S A GOOD PLACE TO PLAY AND THE STAFF IS VERY GOOD. Restaurant has taken a huge step up in 2020. They replied "well how would we know when we were going to run out?" All the holes are unique and the greens are not too fast. Cause all you will have is a chip to the fairway nothing else! No local tournaments listed for this course. Captains Golf Course. It looks like either the greens crew misused their fertilizer or the extreme heat in July caused marked brown areas on most fairways. The groundskeepers are cutting into the soil in places and the greens look like they've had some aeration work done, but I'm not keen on paying these courses' full fare for the conditions they are currently offering in return. Together, the par-72 Port Course and the par-72 Starboard Course deliver 36 holes of enjoyment during your visit to Cape Cod. Golf Cape Cod at the Captains Golf Course. The Captain's Golf Course in Brewster has a private club feeling with nicely landscaped grounds, bright clubhouse with a large terrace, well stocked pro shop, driving range, and most importantly, two well maintained courses, Port being the more challenging of the two. The range is actual grass so that's a major plus to me. The Starboard course is considered the easier of the two. I was by myself in a cart, ball went into the rough on the 4th... so I get this moment of stupidity where at a 60 degree incline I'm like 'I'll just ride down to get the ball' but after two feet the cart started pitching... and not in a good way.
